Nighttime Guided Tour: The Opera District
Discover the Opéra District – Friday 30th October at 6:45pm
With the CIJP – Club International des Jeunes à Paris
The epitome of Haussmannisation, this district is simply overflowing with shops, restaurants, theatres and concert halls, the most prominent being the Opéra Garnier. We will also explore the Madeleine Church, followed by the Place Vendôme. Envisaged by Louis XIV, this square was for a long while a place for major political events. Today, the Place Vendôme plays host to luxury boutiques, such as the jewellers Chaumet. At the centre of this square is the famous Vendôme column, built during the reign of Napoléon I.
