Le Festival des Jardins
Le Festival Des Jardins
The ‘Festival International des Jardins de Chaumont-sur-Loire’ (more commonly referred to as the ‘Festival des Jardins’) is a horticultural show that takes place in Chaumont-sur-Loire. The festival has been held every year since 1992 and exhibits a wide range of landscaped gardens that tie in with a particular theme.
Over 500 gardens have been created since the first edition of the festival, which has grown in size and popularity every year. Last year, there were nearly a quarter of a million visitors.
This year is the 27th edition of the festival and the theme is “jardins de la pensée” (“gardens of thought”). To judge the winner of the festival, the organisers have hired French writer, Jean Echenoz, winner of the ‘Prix Goncourt’ in 1999. The festival began on 24th April and will continue to run until 4th November so there is plenty of time for you to check it out. The festival is aimed at a wide audience making it an excellent day out for all!
