Musée D’orsay Exhibition
From the 18th March 2025, the Musée d’Orsay will display ‘L’Art est dans la rue’, which follows the artistic development of illustrated posters in the 19th century. It will feature nearly 300 works from the ‘Belle Époque’ and explores how art influenced everyday life in this period. Although this exhibition is ideal for history lovers, the museum offers a variety of eyecatching paintings and sculptures for those who want to appreciate some French artistic culture. Inside the Musée d’Orsay you may be surprised to find a stunning ballroom, which you can access as part of your visit. Known as ‘La Salle des Fêtes’, this enchanting room is lavishly decorated in a style typical of La Belle Epoque. It boasts huge mirrors, chandeliers and ornately painted ceilings. You will notice that the reflection of light from the imposing mirrors creates a dazzling effect, and is sure to transport you back to an age of elegance and opulence.
When visiting the museum, you will want to carefully consider your dates and timings. Due to its immense beauty, the attraction has proved popular among tourists, and increasingly so in recent years! You will want to try and avoid Saturday visits where possible and opt for weekdays either after work or during time off. As either an under 26 EU resident or valid visa holder, you can enter the building for free at any time and access all permanent exhibitions within the museum.
Upon entry, you may notice that the building was originally a railway station, and was constructed as the Gare d’Orsay for the 1900 Paris Exposition. Its high glass ceilings, huge clock and long shape are all reminders of its past. In fact, the original train station restaurant from 1900 is still inside the museum, and features gilded decor and intricately painted ceilings.
The Hidden Rooms Of Château De Versailles
From 15th February until the 30th September 2025, the Salle du Congrès and the Appartement du Président inside the Chateau de Versailles will be open to the public. The Salle de Congress is well known for hosting meetings among the French parliament (L’Assemblée Nationale) and is a historical symbol of Republican power within a royal setting. The President’s apartment is a significant reminder of when the French parliament was based in Versailles. Visiting these normally private locations is a great way to maximise a visit to Versailles. Why not take advantage of an opportunity to see where French politics really happens, all while taking in the extraordinary sights of the palace itself. Don’t forget that on the first Sunday of each month between November and March, the palace opens its doors to the public for free!
Pompidou Centre Exhibition
If you were planning on visiting the Pompidou Centre whilst in Paris, the coming months would make the perfect opportunity! The modern art museum’s final exhibition before a 5 year renovation period is set to begin on the 19th March and will run until 30 June 2025. ‘Paris Noir, Circulations artistiques, luttes anticoloniales 1950-2000’ will display the fascinating intersection between art, history and cultural exchange by shining a light on some rarely seen works of black artists in Paris between the years 1950 and 2000. The exhibition promises to take on a celebratory tone, featuring 150 artists of African, Caribbean, and American descent.
Whilst appreciating this exhibition, you will have the opportunity to take in the striking appearance of the Pompidou Centre itself. Its modern facade is famous for its inside-out appearance and colourful external pipes. The building’s roof top also offers panoramic views of Paris, and with just a short escalator ride you will see some of the city’s most stunning buildings.
La Bourse Du Commerce Exhibition
The exhibition ‘Corps et Ames’ (bodies and souls) will be on display between 5th March and 25th August 2025 at the Bourse du Commerce. This showcase will delve into the representation of the human body in contemporary art, featuring over 100 works. The exhibition is not just limited to paintings, there is a range of sculptures, photographs and videos on display. Why not appreciate this immersive experience in one of Paris’ most iconic buildings.
Even if you don’t fancy attending an art exhibition, just visiting the Bourse du Commerce makes a great day out. The unique building was designed as a stock exchange and was only transformed into a contemporary museum in 2021! Its dome shape gives it an appealing appearance, a great way to combine Parisian history with developing culture.

Located in the 5th arrondissement, this stunning location is perfect if you would like to enjoy a variety of themed gardens, visit exotic greenhouses or even wander through a desert-like garden filled with cacti. What makes the space so special in the springtime, is its cherry blossoms, magnolias and colourful tulip beds!
Have A Picnic By Canal Saint- Martin
If you would like to spend a sunny afternoon how the Parisians do, then why not relax by the Canal Saint-Martin! This picturesque spot is perfect for people watching, socialising or simply reading a book. The area’s lively atmosphere will lift your spirits,and if you are lucky enough you might catch some street music while soaking up the sun.
Stroll Through Jardin Tuileries
Nestled between the Louvre and Place de la Concorde, this historic garden bursts into color every spring with vibrant flowerbeds, manicured lawns, and lovely fountains. It’s perfect for a leisurely walk or relaxing on one of the famous green chairs. You may even spot young children racing their toy boats in the central fountain, a beloved tradition that comes to life in the spring and summer.
Enjoy Parc Floral in The Bois De Vincennes
Why not visit some beautiful floral displays in the Bois de Vincennes? During the spring months, the garden becomes a floral paradise! With multiple themed gardens and displays of blossoms and tulips, it makes the perfect springtime walk. Located at the end of metro line 1, you can find this tranquil spot away from the bustle of the city centre. There are even some free-entry events dotted around the park that can be enjoyed until 31st March 2025.
Le Printemps Des Poètes
From March 14 to 31, 2025, this annual poetry festival celebrates literature with a variety of free events and activities. Libraries across the Ile de France region will be hosting readings, workshops and classes for all ages to celebrate the art of poetry! If you are looking for a free activity for yourself, or something to occupy the children on a rainy afternoon, then you should definitely head down to your local library to see what’s on offer. This year’s theme is ‘volcanic’, which will be central to the range of activities. Some examples for those in central Paris include:
Des poèmes pour les petits (March 14–26) – At the Bibliothèque André Malraux, children can enjoy poetry readings, including a musical session with the Conservatoire du 6th arrondissement.
Poèmes prennent voix et piano (March 19) – Also at the Bibliothèque André Malraux, this special event pairs poetry readings with live piano music, featuring talented students.

Between the 23rd and 25th March, dozens of cinemas across the country will show films for just €5! This fantastic deal aims to make the pleasure of watching movies accessible to the public.
