Quais Du Polar, Lyon

From 31st March to 2nd April

Every April in Lyon various authors and filmmakers come together to celebrate the crime fiction genre. If you are a fan or just curious make sure to take advantage of this festival. Over the course of this three day event you can enjoy readings, concerts, plays and screenings of crime films to name but a few activities. This festival has not only hosted the likes of novelists Tonino Benacquista, Harlan Coben, Jo Nesbo and James Ellroy but has also grown to attract around 60,000 visitors each year. Make sure you are one of them!

Free Photography Exhibition At The Pompidou

From 22 February to 22 May 2017

Photographer Josef Koudelka originally from Moravia, currently lives in Paris pursuing his passion for photography. Having been introduced to the medium by a friend of his fathers at a young age, Josef now travels the world, never staying longer than 3 months in the same place, taking pictures of his adventures. In this Exhibition we see seventy five of his photographs making up the ‘Exils’ series. This series of photographs taken in the 1970’s and 1980’s follow the few months leading up to the invasion of Prague. Koudelka powerfully portrays the complex subjects of irruption, protest and repression. Make sure to head down to this exhibition this April to experience his brilliance for yourself.

Festival Séries Mania 2017

13th to 23rd April

Located at the Forum des Images in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, this event is a veritable celebration of cinema and television. Here you can see the Forum des Images’ selection of the best series’ of the year on the big screen along with conferences discussing the series themselves and a chance to meet their actors and creators. The Color Run 2017 in Paris

Sunday 16th April

Want to spruce up your morning jog? Why not try out the Paris Colour Run. With every kilometer you run you will be covered in powdered colour, a marching band will be performing with you and plenty more activities will be organised throughout the day to keep your spirits up. Why not take part in this fun event? Do not worry about ruining your clothes, you will be given a white t-shirt and a pair on sunglasses at the start line!

Concert: Kelp Giant + Morgan At The Zorba

Saturday 29th April

Kelp Giant, an eclectic trio from California experiments with a range of musical genres. Influenced by the sounds of the Balkans, Flamenco and Indian music this trio is the epitome of jazz with a twist. Followed by Parisian duo Morgan who take us on an interesting journey, their lyrics that of a fable or a story perfectly complimented by a jazzy sound. If you feel for a night of experimental jazz that embraces the modernisation of this genre whilst holding on to its traditionalism, make sure to head down to the Zorba in Belleville.
