Babylangues Jobs in Paris – Adam in Paris!
Babylangues Jobs in Paris.
Moving to Paris was always a dream of mine. As a recent university graduate from Manchester, I was eager to experience life in the City of Light, immerse myself in French culture, and, of course, improve my rusty school-level French. I knew I’d need a job to support myself while there for a year, but I wanted something more meaningful than the usual expat gigs in bars or cafés.

That’s when I discovered Babylangues—a company that offers English language immersion for children through fun and interactive sessions. The idea of working with kids, teaching my native language, and getting to experience life with French families sounded perfect.
After completing the training, I was assigned to work with two French families in Paris, each with children of different ages and personalities.
Training Provided
My sessions with the first family revolved around their two kids—E, aged 7, and L, aged 4. Both were curious and full of energy, but they approached learning English in completely different ways. E loved crafts and storytelling, so I’d often bring along picture books and used the Toolkit for all of the language learning art projects to keep her engaged. L, on the other hand, was more active, so we’d incorporate English into games like hide-and-seek or Simon Says.

A Rewarding Experience
The best part? They didn’t even realize they were learning. Babylangues’ philosophy is all about immersion, so instead of sitting them down for “lessons,” I used everyday moments to introduce vocabulary and phrases. Whether we were setting the table, playing with toys, or walking to the park, I’d narrate everything in English and encourage them to repeat after me.

My second family, had just one child, 10-year-old C. She was already learning English in school, so our sessions were more focused on conversation and confidence-building. Camille loved music, and we’d sing English songs together!

It was during these quiet, everyday moments that I felt like I was truly making a difference.
A Schedule To Suit My Needs
No two days were ever the same, but here’s what a typical workday might look like for me:
- School Pickup
I’d arrive around 4:30 PM to pick up the kids from school. This was always a fun challenge, as I had to communicate with their teachers and friends—an unexpected bonus for improving my French! - Snack Time
Back at the house, we’d have a snack, which doubled as an opportunity for language learning. I’d teach them the names of foods, colors, and simple phrases like “Can I have some water?” - Activity Time
This was the heart of our sessions! - Wind-Down and Storytime
Before I left, we’d often read a story together. Babylangues provides great resources for this, but I also loved bringing my own books from the UK.
I usually worked 6–10 hours a week, which gave me plenty of time to enjoy Paris and pursue other interests.
Of course, no job is without its challenges. There were times when the kids were tired, distracted, or just not in the mood to speak English. I had to get creative and adapt my approach on the fly, which taught me patience and problem-solving.
An Overall Fantastic Experience!
If you’re considering working with Babylangues, my advice is simple: go for it. It’s not just a job—it’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in French culture, make a genuine impact, and gain skills that will stay with you for life.
Whether you’re a student, a recent graduate, or someone looking for a meaningful way to experience France, Babylangues offers a unique chance to connect with locals, explore the language, and create unforgettable memories.
