Babylangues Profile
It is the individuals that make up our Babylangues Community and each of them are all so talented, we feel that they deserve an article on our blog! Without further ado, we present… the Babylangues Profile!
From those that have worked in the office, to our Instructors and the founders of Babylangues itself, each individual that we have had the pleasure of working with is special in their own unique way and possesses their own talents and personal triumphs. This Babylangues Profile allows us to explore them as they should rightfully be celebrated: in all of their greatness and glory!
Getting To Know… Louis La Grenouille!
Some of the eager eyed amongst you may have noticed that we have a new recruit to the Babylangues Team… our mascot, Louis la Grenouille!
‘une grenouille’ = a frog
Louis is eager to get out of the office and explore Paris and we hope that you will join him on this exciting journey over the coming months! You will be able to keep up-to-date with his travels through our new Facebook ‘Live’ features and Instagram ‘stories’.
We sat down with Louis for a quick catch up over a coffee to get to know him a little better…
What Is Your Favourite Thing About Living in Paris?
Having just moved to Paris, I love how vibrant and bustling the city is. There is no shortage of things to do and people to meet! Whilst other international cities, such as London for example, can often feel sprawling and overcrowded, Paris is the perfect size for me! When you are in the centre it is very easy to walk everywhere (or, in my case, hop) and the city quickly begins to feel more like home.
Do You Have A Favourite Type Of French Cuisine?
Well, I obviously can’t eat frogs’ legs, but I am partial to a bowl of snails every now and then! And I do love crêpes… I can never choose between sweet or savoury!
What Is Your Favourite Activity To Do in Paris Over The Summer Months?
My favourite activity is to sit by the Canal Saint Martin or by the banks of the Seine – I love being by the water in the summer when the city is warm and life takes place outdoors!
Do You Have A Favourite Picnic Spot in The City?
There are far too many to choose from! Parc des Buttes-Chaumont in the north-eastern area of the city is a magical place to explore with its hills, lakes, waterfall cascades. You can enjoy your baguette and cheese on a large grassy bank whilst taking in the fantastic view over the whole of Paris.
Do You Have Any Advice For Someone Who Is About To Make The Move To France?
Keep a positive mindset, be prepared for paperwork and try to make as much effort as you can to speak the language – you will get out what you put in!
Thank you for taking the time to speak to us, Louis! It’s a pleasure to have you on the Babylangues Team. We look forward to getting to know you over the next few months!
