Weekend in Lyon
Weekend in Lyon
Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd November
With our partner To Be Erasmus in Paris
Join us as we venture south to discover Lyon, the third largest city in France, frequently considered the crossroads between Northern and Southern Europe. Situated at the foot of the Alps, visitors are drawn to Lyon for its avant-garde yet historic nature. Marvel at their standout monuments like the Notre Dame Basilica and embark on a journey though time as you pass through the remains of the old city. Lyon is an ideal city to explore, with vast expanses such as place Bellecour and Parc de la tête d’Or (“Park of the Golden Head”), the latter inspired by traditional English parks and spanning over one hundred and seventeen hectares. And the adventure does not end there! You cannot take a trip to Lyon without stopping by the Hospices of Beaune, the perfect chance to sample some of their unique wines.
Leave Paris for a mid-afternoon arrival in Lyon. Check-in to the hotel followed by a tour of the old town, with free time to explore the city. In the evening, a group outing will be organised.
Further organised tours of the city and free time to discover Lyon, with the chance to meet Erasmus students staying in Lyon in the evening.
Checkout of the hotel to head on to Beaune for a tour of the Hospices, followed by free time for lunch. We expect to arrive back in Paris at approximately 9pm.
